"I guess what I am trying to say is - Fifi's is more than the sum of its' parts...they have heart, soul and love oozing out of the woodwork, like only a truly French place can."

"Fifi's Cafe in Pacific Grove rolls out the red carpet at affordable prices."
Fifi's serves French comfort food that scores low on the snoot meter. Its famous French onion soup, the duck mousse pate, the boeuf Bourguignonne and the escargots in white mushroom caps scream "traditional French." But lower your nose and take a peek at the Australian lamb chops., spinach ravioli, chicken curry and Greek salad. Your culinary passport is stamped by many different countries, and the delightful aromas from the kitchen keep your nose always guessing.

"Pacific Grove bistro worth a return trip."
During a recent trip to the Monterey Peninsula, we had breakfast, lunch and dinner (not at the same time) at a most charming bistro, called Fifi's Cafe Bistro in Pacific Grove. The restaurant adjoins a Safeway store in a shopping development downhill from Highway 1 on Highway 68. The menu is French, as is Fifi, and the staff couldn't be more pleasant. I was surprised that the restaurant served breakfast, but it was great. The menu offers authentic French onion soup, pate, escargot and European cheese plates. A three-course bistro meal, at $16.95, includes a choice of French onion or the soup of the day, and more than a dozen entrees, including lamb, duck, mussels, filet mignon, salmon, sand dabs and sole, as well as seafood, duck, or Tuscan pastas.

"Bistro; wine store that sells food, or restaurant where wine is
sold." Webster's
"When Michele Tardivet (owner of Fifi's Café in Pacific Grove)
married Calvin Wilkes (owner of the World Wine Club) the stage was
set for a major change in a local restaurant landmark... Fifi's
offer a large selection of adventurous wines by the glass ($3.75 -
$6.50)... this is probably the only restaurant around where you have
a choice of three petite Bordeaux labels for less than $30. The
establishment also sells wine at retail with big discounts for case
buyers."

"Fifi's is a great spot. Casual yet elegant, it is a place to go for any meal.  There's always good music...scrumptious aromas wafting throughout and an overall feeling that you are being loved."
The ambiance – delicate sconces on the walls, beautiful chandeliers, attractive posters, lace curtains and candles everywhere. The tunes of Billie Holiday and Johnnie Hartman or romantic french tunes, the smooth stewardship of Calvin, the occasional glimpse of the quietly elegant Michèle, the actual food and wine, all conspired to create the sensation of being in our own private dining room.

"Speaking of little treasures, Fifi's in Pacific Grove, the groovy french style bistro serving wonderfully authentic meals pops to mind.  Stop by and say 'Hi' to the ever congenial and witty Calvin and the mysterious and sultry Michèle."

"Fifi's Cafe Bistro:
